About

Hi, I’m Sandy. I am a quilter, sewer, embroiderer and sometimes knitter. Really, I love anything made with a stitch!!!

I particularly love the freedom and fun of free motion quilting, thread sketching and mixed media collage; as well as the process of ‘slow stitch’ embroidery. One evokes a creative process that stirs the mind; while the other provides a chance to stitch in creative silence and just listen.

I try to support local businesses; buy fabrics from independently owned shops; support other artists by buying custom fabric or handmade gifts; and reusing/repurposing whenever possible to create art or garments.

I live across the street from a wildlife refuge in Connecticut where my husband and I have lived for 30 years loving nature and building a family. I have a degree in Forest Management, a Masters in Management with an IT focus and have spent most of my career in IT.  I am starting a slow transition to less IT work and more fiber art with future plans for a small line of products.
